Beasts, Gods, and Monsters
This series has been a great comic book reader’s title, full of Heroes, villains, twists, and turns. I’ll be sad to see it end. However, part of the journey is the end, so does this ending live up to the rest of the story? Let’s find out.
In the last issue, we saw Jinx die at the hands of Donna Troy. Donna was trying to kill Raven and end all of the suffering that had happened at her hands and those of Brother Blood and Mother Mayhem, but in a classic twist, it turned out it was Jinx projecting as Raven. A Titan falls, as does the guilt on Donna Troy’s shoulders.
In this issue, the team must reunite to face Raven who is acting like a cornered, wounded predator., when an unlikely ally reappears to help the team.
This story was well written, it kept my attention, and kept me guessing. It was not boring or trying to be anything other than what it was, a classic Titans tale with a fresh twist. The artwork has been perfect throughout this mini-series, so I must send my compliments to the artist, I would be very happy to see this creative team take on a team-up book in the main DC continuity, they have the talent to really do something great and bring themselves into the mainstream.
Double, Double Cross
The ending of this book as well as the cancellation of the HBO Max series, not to mention Tom Taylor’s new title Titans; who will be the main superhero team of the DCU going forward show us that this is the final issue of the Titans United era. I for one have loved reviewing it, and hope it’s not the end. As I mentioned earlier, however, part of the journey is the end, and this book concludes on a hopeful note. So lets all act like the Titans and keep this hope alive.
Conclusion
This finale delivered a solid conclusion to a Titans series that would leave any fan with a smile on their face. It never pretended to be more than a good superhero team story, and that was its main strength. Titans United: Bloodpact #6 gave us a great way to end what’s been a beautiful ride.
