Fans of Gotham’s Clown Prince of Crime will be happy to know that there’s finally a release date for Joker 2. However, they may not be happy about the date itself. This will test everyone’s patience for sure, because the film’s set to be released on October 4th, 2024. Yes. In two years’ time!
After the major hit that the first Joker movie was, fans were asking for a sequel almost immediately. It was only in June this year that Joker: Folie à Deux was announced, but that was all we needed. Since then, there have been many fan theories and predictions about what could happen in the sequel, especially with the title, which means “folly of two” or “madness of two”.
Joaquin Phoenix will be reprising his role as Joker beside Lady Gaga after she shared a rather cryptic video on Twitter recently of what looks to be Joker dancing beside what we presume to be the character she will play. What character that is, however, many fans guess will be Harley Quinn.
With the meaning of the title, there are also many fans hoping that we will finally see Willam Defoe step into the DC Universe as a Joker imposter. Although there is no sign of him actually being cast in the movie so far.
