Batman Unburied, the Spotify audio series, has cast its version of The Riddler: Hasan Minhaj.
The podcast series is set to tweak everything we know about The Dark Knight, his alter ego Bruce Wayne, and everything about the world of Batman.
An official description of the series has now been released by Spotify:
When audiences meet Bruce Wayne he is a forensic pathologist, working in the bowels of Gotham Hospital and tasked with examining the victims of The Harvester, a gruesome serial killer preying on Gotham’s citizens. Not only will the superhero be forced to face his own mental demons, but he will also have to overcome them in order to save the citizens of Gotham as his alter-ego, Batman.
The series is being written by David S. Goyer, who wrote what’s become a Christopher Nolan classic, The Dark Knight. Minaj is known for his stand-up and Netflix special, The Patriot Act. He joins Lance Roddick (Thomas Wayne), Toks Olagundoye (Martha Wayne), Ashly Burch (Vicki Vale), and John Rhys-Davies (Dr. Hunter). It’s exciting to see these comic stories being brought to the world of Podcasting, which feels like a throwback to the days of radio serials.
Dawn Ostroff, the Chief Content and Advertising Business Officer for Spotify told fans when the DC/Spotify deal was first announced:
As we continue to see explosive growth in podcasting around the world, we are thrilled to partner with Warner Bros. to build this slate of programming drawn from the worlds of DC and WB. We could not be more excited to be working with Robert, Peter, and the entire Warner Bros. and DC teams to deliver new exclusive stories to the more than 286 million Spotify users.
