Sideshow Collectibles and Tweeterhead present the new limited edition DC Comics Scarecrow Sixth Scale Maquette.

There are even two different versions to choose from. The “Standard Edition” comes with two distinctive portraits – A “Classic” style, inspired by his first appearance, and a more “Modern” age design, inspired by his appearance in Batman: The Long Halloween and Batman: The Animated Series.

The maquette was created by 8 different artists, Amilcar Fong (sculpt and design), Ariel Mora Remis (sculpt), Igor Catto (sculpt),Tom Jilesen (design), Jon Rasmussen(design), Andrew Huerta(design), David Igo (design) and Eric O’Neill(paint).

The fully sculpted poly-resin statue features the self proclaimed “MASTER OF FEAR” with his scythe creeping atop a section of Arkham Asylum, which appears to be engulfed with the Scarecrow’s fear toxin. There are crows either side of the villain, a partial Arkham Asylum sign, and a Grim Reaper looking statue holding a lantern on the pillar of the asylum.

The Scarecrow is depicted wearing a ragged top, with straw poking out at the shoulders, and trousers with patches and straw poking out at the ankles. There are also ropes tied around various parts of his body and it looks as though the ropes of holding everything together. He also has his burlap mask, a brown leather looking hat, and brown boots with buckle detail.

The Scarecrow Maquette measures roughly 20” tall, 15” wide and 13” deep when fully assembled, and I like that it includes an alternate portrait, as both equally eerie and terrifying. I’ve always been slightly scared of The Scarecrow, and this maquette terrifies me. I honestly think if I had this in my room and woke up to see it looking down at me from a shelf I would have a mini heart attack, but most Scarecrow/Batman fans aren’t chickens like me, so this scary looking statue probably wouldn’t bother them too much.

This is an amazing collectors’ piece. It’s beautifully detailed, and the paintwork and sculpting work that has gone into making the statue is exceptional.

The maquette is available to pre-order from Sideshow Collectables and costs $475/£352.74 . It is expected to ship April 2022 – June 2022
