Wrestler-turned-movie star, Dwayne Johnson, has never been shy about his body, or telling his fans about how he got to be as The Rock as he is. However, this year, he’s stepping up his game majorly to play the anti-hero Black Adam.

In a recent Instagram post, he stated that he’s preparing for some upcoming shirtless scenes.

If anyone else is exhausted just by reading how he’s keeping in shape, then you aren’t the only ones. Just weeks before this post, he revealed a tease of Black Adam’s costume, with a black and white photo of a cloaked figure.

He says in the post:

Wanted to give you guys a little #blackadam ⚡️ update and share this image with you from set. Production is coming along GREAT and I’m very pleased with the movie we’re making. Black Adam’s mythology, ethics and actions no doubt will creat a new paradigm in the world of superheroes, villains & antiheroes.

The power will shift.

The line will blur.

From a slave to a God.

The Hero’s Workout

Often posting images and videos of their gruelling gym sessions, we know roughly how some of our heroes get into Super shape. Sometimes, friendly competitions will arise between the stars to post new or difficult workouts, or just challenging others to do something different. Such as Henry Cavill’s Superman in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and 2021’s Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Then there’s Stephen Amell who played Oliver Queen, aka Green Arrow, on the CW’s hit show Arrow.

Director David Ayer wanted the actors in the 2016 movie Suicide Squad, to be able to preform the majority of their own stunts without relying too heavily on stuntmen, meaning that the whole cast had to get into shape. For her first role as Harley Quinn, actress Margot Robbie was taught how to do the beautiful aerial acrobatics from her infamous scene in the cage at the beginning of the film.

I got to do this cool stuff I never would have done before. Learning how to do the silk stuff you see at Cirque du Soleil. This stuff’s incredibly hard but really fun.

Margot Robbie, Suicide Squad Behind the Scenes

Knowing just how much blood, sweat and tears goes into making our heroes a reality certainly makes us appreciate the actors more for their efforts.

Currently, there ‘s very little known about the plot for the Black Adam film, due to release the 29th if July 2022, but many fans have their fingers crossed that it will eventually lead to a meeting with SHAZAM!… since that always goes so well.
