BAK_1Hot on the heels of a brand new trailer for the upcoming Batman Arkham Knight video game from Rocksteady, DC just today put out a shiny new press release detailing the upcoming tie-in comic book. BATMAN: ARKHAM KNIGHT the comic book is going to be a digital only title written by Peter J. Tomasi and drawn by Viktor Bogdanovic and Art Thibert with covers by Dan Panosian. According to the press release the series is going to be an “in-continuity” story with Peguin, Two Face and Harley Quinn being featured as major villains and will explain a lot of “additional details” about the game’s mysterious new villian, The Arkham Knight. The series is going to launch March 11th on the DC comics app as well as comixology and Google Play, Kindle Store, Nook Store, iBooks and iVerse ComicsPLUS and will continue up until the game’s release on June 2nd.

Peter J. Tomasi is no stranger to writing for Batman or DC, but Viktor Bogdanovic is new to drawing for DC having worked primarily at Image in the past. Art Thibert is also a relative DC new comer only having worked on The Flash briefly in 2007 and Trinity in 2008. Needless to say the two artists are vey excited about getting to work on Batman.

“I’m so thrilled to be a part of this project. I don’t eat, I don’t sleep, and I rarely leave my Batcav… sorry… apartment. Best time of my life!” are Viktor Bogdanovic’s words on the subject.

Thilbert had this to add: “It’s Batman! I mean really, it’s frickin’ Batman! The artwork in this book is amazing. Vik’s pencils are pushing me artistically in new directions, which is so much fun, I hope everyone enjoys reading it as much as I did working on it.”

Even Tomasi is stoked off this book stating: “I’m having a blast crafting stories set in the world of BATMAN: ARKHAM KNIGHT, There are so many great characters to play with. We’ve got exciting plans for Batman as we shake and bake him good!”
