The Batman: Black and White collectible series sees the availability of its 50th statue, which is a piece by Punk Rock Jesus artist Sean Murphy.
The statue is priced at $79.95, and appears to be well-worth the cash for particular Bat-fans.
Additionally, September 4, 2013 is the day when DC will unleash a new six-issue Batman: Black and White miniseries, featuring art from the following people: Murphy, Chris Samnee, Marc Silvestri, Neal Adams and others.
The Black and White line has also featured art from Jim Lee, Paul Pope, Mike Mignola, Frank Miller, Alex Ross, and of course, Batman creator Bob Kane.
DC Collectibles’ goal is to release six or seven “Black and White” statues every year inspired by the vast array of Batman characters in animation, video games, comics and pop culture.
Considering the prospect of numerous Black and White statues surfacing each year, discriminating Batman-fans who wish to purchase a statue should be pleased with the expected variety of the collectibles line.
Kevin Kinrey says:It’s now become almost a tradition and an honor to have all these artists represented in this format.
But just like the comics for Batman keep going, we have new artists all the time that are exploring their version of Batman, and what a shame if we don’t continue this line to be able to celebrate the new people as well as the people who are associated with Batman from the past.
This fall is marked by much Batman awesome-ness. Wouldn’t you agree? Perhaps we can hope for something like a future Black and White skin for Arkham Origins. Regardless of such a fantasy, bring on the Autumn of Batman!
