Batman Returns was weird. It had Danny DeVito as a monstrously deformed take on The Penguin, Christopher Walken as villainous business man Max Shreck, Catwoman being raised from the dead by cat licks, and penguins with rocket packs in a plot to bomb Gotham City. However, believe it or not, there were some ideas that were left on the cutting room floor, particularly with the Penguins. Drawn by Tim Flattery, concept artist for Batman Returns and Batman Forever, you’ll see in the gallery below just what was deemed too much or not good enough for the second Tim Burton Batman from. These goofy Penguin minions had almost as many gadgets as the Batman himself. Flattery himself has gone on record saying that the penguins with the mind control helmet are his favorite. Personally, I love the chest mounted boxing glove penguin the most.
