There have been many people who have different interpretations about the ending of The Dark Knight Rises. Jonathan Nolan discussed with IGN during New York Comic Con 2012 about the ending. He also talks about why he and his brother, Christopher Nolan wanted Robin in this movie as well as Catwoman.
