With more and more rumors circling the project, it’s hard not to find some speculation about who will be in Batman Vs. Superman. However more recent reports certainly seem to point in the direction of who will NOT be in it, namely any of The Dark Knight’s rouges.
While the main speculation is that the movie will feature two villains, (Lex Luthor, Metallo, Brainiac, Darkseid, and even Doomsday are rumored) there is only mention of Superman baddies. As IGN‘s Jim Vejvoda put it:
Perhaps Warner Bros. may be reluctant to use any Bat-villains since if they’re going to unite DC’s two (well, now three) most iconic superheroes then naturally viewers might want their biggest arch-enemies in there, too. Meaning Joker, who nobody would want to try to do again just a few short years after Heath Ledger’s iconic turn.
So it seems Ben Affleck may just have to wait until a stand alone Batman movie to punch the finest Arkham has to offer. Frankly though with as crowded as this movie is seeming, this may not be a bad thing.
