For many of us, we have been indulged and graced with the realistic version of Batman. We have been given high tech, innovative version of the Batmobile that roars to life and crushes cars under it’s monster wheels. We have been given chaos and philosophy that was beautifully written. However, based on the press conference from yesterday…Christopher Nolan stated that he will not be involved with or in the Justice League movie. Here’s his statement:
“We’re finished with all we’re doing with Batman. This is the end of our take on this character.
Batman will outlive us all, and our interpretation was ours. Obviously, we consider it definitive and kind of finished. The great thing about Batman is he lives on for future generations to reinterpret, and obviously, Warners will have to decide in the future what they’re going to do with him. We’ve had our say on the character. … I’ve got no plans to do anything more, and certainly, no involvement with any ‘Justice League’ project.”
It appears that Warner Bros. has asked him to do the movie. They even asked him to do the reboot Batman. He says, “No.” I can respect that ultimately, but I do not like it. It means that some other director and writer will take charge, and will either destroy our wonderful Batman or bring Batman to the same level as Nolan’s interpretation. If we can actually find or make a clone of Nolan that would help a little. However, we have not perfected the art of cloning so no. Nolan had a good run, he has other projects to do. He has a beautiful mind that needs to be shared with the world…
