The Batman Part II director Matt Reeves officially announced the new cast of the film as well as returning people.
Reeves made the announcements on X (formerly Twitter). He confirmed people that have been in the casting conversation already. This list includes, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, and Charles Dance.
Reeves announced Johansson’s involvement by posting a gif of her in 2013’s Under the Skin with the caption “Next exit, Gotham… Welcome.”

Other Surprising New Cast Members for ‘The Batman Part II’
On top of that, there are some surprising additions to the cast include Brian Tyree Henry and Sebastian Koch.
Tyree Henry has been in a thousand notable roles in the past few years. He starred in Marvel’s The Eternals, Godzilla vs. Kong, and the acclaimed show Atlanta. He also did voice acting roles, like Megatron in Transformers One and Miles Morales’ police officer dad in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Koch has done many dramatic roles. He starred in Bridge of Spies, Valkyrie, and Sea Wolf.
Neither characters Tyree Henry and Koch are playing have been disclosed at this time.
Returning Veterans
These new actors will join a bunch of returning players, including Robert Pattinson is set to return as Batman, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, and Andy Serkis as Alfred. Note how Zoe Kravitz is not returning as Catwoman in this go-around.
Sounds like this cast is full of heavy hitters and some interesting dark horse picks. The sequel will definitely be exciting none the less.
The Batman Part II will start production in spring 2026 and will hit theaters on October 1, 2027.
