DC Studios confirmed that Christina Hodson is the screenwriter for The Brave and the Bold.

Some unofficial sources point to Hodson writing a screenplay since Fall 2025. Another unofficial report indicates that she is not close to a finished draft yet. This lines up with DC Studios co-president James Gunn’s comments about how he is still waiting for an “actionable script”.

Hodson has done a number of scripts for action movies, like 2018 Transformers spin-off Bumblebee. Hodson has even written for multiple DC movies, including Birds of Prey and the  unproduced Batman Beyond and Batgirl scripts. But what fans will know her most recently as the screenwriter for The Flash movie.

This the most interesting piece since The Flash director Andy Muschietti is also directing The Brave and the Bold. This makes the Batman film something of a mini-Flash reunion.

This is the first update about Brave and the Bold in a long while. Muschietti confirmed to helm the movie way back in 2023. Other than that news, there has been no new updates about production. Additionally, WB repeatedly kept pushing the movie release back.

Furthermore, Gunn’s comments make it sound like The Brave and the Bold won’t hit theaters until 2028 at the earliest after The Batman Part II  comes out in 2027. Other compounding reasons for the delays include, Muschetti reporting that he is working on an untitled sci-fi movie, as well as serving as producer on the successful It: Welcome to Derry. So currently, the Batman movie does not have a solid release date.

Hodson’s inclusion at least points to a promising direction that the film will be made eventually. For now, we need to wait and see.
