Batman and Robin
#22 brings a Demon on the scene, he’s big, he’s scary and often mean…
Let’s jump in, and discuss this book, with Batman and Etrigan, you know it’ll cook….

Something Wicked

This book begins, where the last one ended, Robin imprisoned, angry and offended. We see him and Memento exchanging tales. Can the Boy Wonder succeed, where everyone else fails?
Back in Gotham, scouring the city, we have Batman and an old friend, she sure is gritty. A great detective, and ally on this case, she knew who Batman was, despite never seeing his face.

This issue brings in something that I wasn’t sure about, something ancient. But when it comes to long term storytelling, you should always read and be patient.

If Magic and Demons are playing a part here, I’m glad that it’s out in the open, and not left too late, with the end drawing near.

Ghosts and Goblins

There were elements of the writing that rubbed me the wrong way, things that were established before, and now changed, for the modern day. The art as usual was creepy and crazy, but can less characters have white white eyes? It feels a little lazy.

I’m intrigued to see where this new spooky direction goes. I hope that it’s something relevant, and not a cheap gag, that blows.

Conclusion

Batman and Robin #22 is a good build for what is to come, it’s getting scary, emotional, and too hot for some!
