Nightwing #120 Is a wonderfully told story that keeps the audience on their toes, much like our hero, the villains definitely have the upper hand. Let’s swoop in…

Wabbit Season

A Month and a week after our last interaction with Nightwing felt so long, it did take me a beat to remember the predicament we were in. Once I remembered, this issue was immediately captivating. The way it was written was great, we were on the same level and knowledge as Nightwing, which doesn’t often happen in comics, usually the reader has a slight advantage, reading narrative or scenes with villains plotting. So in this instance, we know Nightwing, but all of the villains and foes he’s facing are as different and new to us as they are to him. This is just my observation, some of you detectives out there may be ahead. I for one really enjoyed that part of the story from cover to cover.

Circus Art

The art was perfect. Motion, speed, intensity all captured so well, whilst keeping the cheeky young hero with a grin in his hand and a backflip always nearby. The new gangs, and this new shadowy villain have my attention. The gangs definitely give me 80’s movie vibes, outlanding costumes or themes, but made contemporary by a few scary gang violence elements. All in all the writing and the art are perfectly suited. So far two issues into this new run and I have not got a thing to complain about. I’m thrilled the character is in such good hands.

Conclusion

Nightwing #120 is another great addition to the run. Fresh story, fresh villains, real consequences. What more could you want?!
