Worlds Die in ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’ Animated Film Trailer

The trailer for the animated feature Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part One, has finally hit the internet.

The movie tells the story of Earth’s premiere super-team as they face an insurmountable threat of the multiverse being erased by the Anti-Monitor. Crisis is, of course, based on the seminal comic book series of the same name. The 12-issue maxi-series was DC Comics’ original crossover and an event that irrevocably changed the Justice League’s lives and has effects that are still felt in DC Comics today, over thirty years later.

It was announced at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con that Warner Bros. Animation was undertaking the ambitious task of adapting the expansive story into animated features. To do that, the studio will split the story up into not one, not two, but three separate films!

Not much is revealed in the trailer. So far, there are glimpses of tons of DC villains and heroes, including some more obscure characters. We also see the Crime Syndicate as their Earth begins to disintegrate. We also get an appearance by the Monitor, who is the harbinger of the Crisis (not to be confused with the actual Harbinger character, who is not featured in the trailer). Of all of the characters, the trailer specifically highlights the Flash and Supergirl in action. This is… foreboding for people who know what happens in the comic series.

The first part of Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths will hit Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital sometime in 2024.
