The wait to see Batgirl in action has ended, as the Gotham Knights game makers have finally released her character trailer. Thanks to this latest clip, we’ve now seen all four playable characters in action. Now we just have to wait for the game.
We know that the story’s set after Batman’s tragic death, but in this trailer we find that Gotham has also lost Commissioner Jim Gordon, meaning that his daughter Barbra has lost two great men and father figures. As she says, however:
Protecting people runs in my veins
She does what she does best for her city. Using a billy club, her signature weapon, or a set of nunchaku, for gamers who prefer close combat, she has an attack that knocks her enemies down and also break the ground underneath. That will come in handy when she’s staring down a group of escaped Arkham Asylum inmates.
Nightwing has The Flying Trapeze, Red Hood can jump and Robin teleports. Batgirl follows her mentor and travels around Gotham by using her cape to glide through the air, similar to how Batman did during the Arkham Trilogy. She also has her own Batcycle for when she’s on the ground. It’s not the Batmobile, but it’s still pretty awesome.
It’s a shame that the character trailers for Batgirl and Robin were so short, while Nightwing and Red Hood each recieved a full gameplay demo, but hopefully we’ll get to see more before the game’s release.
Gotham Knights is set to release on October 25 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
