The crossover platform fighting game MultiVersus has dropped a cinematic trailer starring Batman and Shaggy from Scooby-Doo fighting a wide range of characters.
The clip starts with Batman being teleported out of the Bat-Cave to the top of a mountain where he meets Bugs Bunny, Shaggy, and – most weirdly – Arya Stark from Game of Thrones. The conflict quickly escalates as Bugs creates a rocket to ride on and Arya kills… Shaggy’s sandwich.
Incidentally, sharp-eared Bat-Fans will recognize Batman: The Animated Series alum Kevin Conroy as Batman.
‘MultiVersus’ Game Mechanics and Rosters
The trailer showcased the partner team-up fighting mechanic, including a team-based 2 vs. 2 format, 1 vs. 1 matches, and 4-player free-for-all. Another feature not seen in the trailer is the multiple online modes. MultiVersus will be a free-to-play, platform fighter video game.
Superman, Wonder Woman, and Harley Quinn represent the DC characters in the MultiVersus roster. Other notable characters include Garnet and Steven from Steven Universe, Jake and Finn from Adventure Time, and Tom and Jerry.
The best team-up in the trailer is Superman and the Iron Giant making a callback to the saddest part of the Iron Giant film.
MultiVersus is currently in its closed Alpha mode, however, fans can still sign up to play here.
The game will be available on Xbox One, Xbox X/S, PS4, PS5, and Steam. The Beta is expected to hit sometime in July 2022.
