The audacity of this 12-year-old! I’ve seen Damian do things you wouldn’t believe; things that young children shouldn’t be doing. At this point, I’m not sure if it’s his mother’s side or his father’s that’s the problem. Let’s try to find out, in Robin #13.
What a Messy Family Tree
Welp, that’s one way to do it. We finally get to see dear old Dad and even big sis makes an appearance. Damian has to have one of the strangest family trees to look at! Adoptive family, via Bruce, and actual family, via Talia.
Can you imagine looking at the birthdates of Mother Soul and Ra’s Al Ghul? What a trip that would be. I wonder if they would add all the death dates and the re-birth dates?! Look, Joshua Williamson has done it again and my brain can clearly not handle the awesomeness that is Robin #13. Too much of the good stuff melts the brain apparently and Williamson must have the most imaginative mind, setting up threads from practically issue #1 that have only come into play now!
When I say my jaw dropped, I don’t think you understand what I mean. It was hanging open like I was a python about to swallow my dinner whole. The plot twists just keep coming! I thought we were done, like, murder island was over and now was chill out time. Boy, was I wrong? Williamson is a master of mysteries. I love a good plot line that comes back later.
Sinning Siblings
This artistic team is blessing my eyeballs and I cannot thank them enough. Sometimes I forget there are actual words to read as I’m too busy looking at everything on the page. Cruz and Rapmund work so well together, as the details in the backgrounds are amazing. It really is the little things that draw your eye sometimes.
Don’t even get me started on Luis Guerrero, that man is a treasure. All the colors used are always beautiful and the hues work so well together. This can be hard to pull off, considering the colors of most of the Batworld aren’t vibrant and punchy, but grim and dark.
Conclusion
Read it, and do yourself a favor. What else are you doing? Nothing as interesting as what’s happening here, I can tell you that as a FACT. Honestly, I never know what’s about to happen next and if I guess, it’s never correct. That’s half the fun!
