The newest trailer for The Batman was released recently for DC’s virtual FanDome event, and a fan has already remade it using Batman: The Animated Series clips.
Batman: TAS will always hold a spot in many peoples’ hearts, not just because so many grew up watching it, but just because of how epic the show was. It was dark and gritty and a lot of the themes probably weren’t aimed at just kids, but it was also light-hearted and fun where it needed to be. With voice talent like Kevin Conroy, Loren Lester, Bob Hastings, Melissa Gilbert, and of course Mark Hamill, what’s not to love about this show? To see this 1992 classic used for the newest Batman in such a way should certainly put a smile on peoples’ faces.
Yes, the results are as awesome as you’d expect.
It may not be completely accurate to the official trailer, like the question mark cup scene being replaced with a clip of Riddlers Jack-in-the-Box, but it doesn’t take away from the tone until Penguin’s in a car with his goons at the end, but Penguin’s more of a funny villain in the series anyway.
The talent behind this recreation, Dark Blender, definitely got creative making this, going as far as to flip the Batman: The Animated Series clips at the end when Penguin watched the Dark Knight walk out of a raging fire. Nice work.
The Batman is set to be released in March 2022.
