Michael Keaton talks about returning to Batman in The Flash
While doing press for The Protégé, Michael Keaton stopped by Jake’s Take and was asked about coming back to the role of Bruce Wayne and Batman for The Flash. Specifically, about putting on the suit and cowl again:
It was shockingly… normal; weird. And I went ‘oh… oh yeah, that’s right’. But also then you start to play the scenes and a lot of memories, lot of memories, lot of interesting sense memories.
“It was shockingly….normal.”
I spoke with Michael Keaton about returning as BATMAN in the new FLASH movie.
And I asked him: What was it like donning the bat suit and cowl again?
And: has he said the phrase “I’m Batman” yet?!

The interviewer, Jake Hamilton—living out every 30-40 year old’s dream, also asked one of the most pivotal questions: has Keaton said the line? You know… “I’m Batman”. Naturally, there were some “audio issues” and the actor was unable to confirm nor deny. Hamilton also asked Michael Keaton if he has spoken with his former Batman and Batman Returns director Tim Burton:
No. But just ’cause we haven’t ’cause we have other stuff to talk about.
While there wasn’t much in the way of news of The Flash or Keaton’s return as Batman itself, we’re still a long way off from meaty details being released to the world. Honestly, the simple fact that the actor is officially talking about returning as Batman at all is exciting. We’ve also seen some set images of Keaton as Bruce Wayne, so it’s only a matter of time before we see images of him as Batman again.
