Sideshow Collectables have released a brand new limited edition Darkseid fine art print by the artist Orlando Arocena, AKA Mexifunk. The print is unframed, on giclee paper, measures 18×24 and there are 375 pieces available. It also comes with an authorized, automated artist signature and an embossed seal of authenticity. The print features Darkseid, ruler of Apokolips, sitting in quiet contemplation and it appears as though he is surrounded by energy.
Darkseid is colored in shades of blue and purple, and his armor’s a steel grey which has been shaded and highlighted to give the appearance of being made from some kind of cosmic metal. His armor is highly detailed, with scratches on the surface, and the omega symbol which looks as though it is embossed or molded into the metal. His eyes are bright red and seem to almost crackle with rage.
Darkseid’s surrounded by orange, red, and yellow hues, that seem to give him an aura. I also think it looks as if he has some kind of forcefield around him. The brighter colors surrounding Darkseid give a nice contrast to the darker tones in which the character himself is colored.
This is a great print, and an excellent portrait of the tyrant, so I’m sure many people will love it. The print is available to pre-order from Sideshow Collectibles and is expected to ship between July and August 2021. The print is priced at $95/£70.90.
