‘Batman: The Long Halloween Part Two’ Releases New Clip: Sofia

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has released an all-new clip for Batman: The Long Halloween Part Two.

Let’s not bury the lead – let’s go straight to the clip!

In the new video, aptly named “Sofia”, Ms. Falcone comes to Gotham to join her father, Carmine. As you saw in the above clip, she offers her father aid; however, Carmine doesn’t seem interested. Not wanting to appear weak, he animatedly declines and hands Sofia a pile of cash to “go buy something nice”.

We, along with Sofia, get a glimpse of the kind of help that Carmine is bringing in for help when the mob boss enters his office. We see the silhouette of the Scarecrow as the door closes behind Carmine. Chances are, there are more of Batman’s rogue gallery in the shadows too.

While the clip is short and not action-packed, it does show us the type of people Sofia and Carmine are. Carmine is exactly how you’d expect him to be – cold and calculated. However, Sofia seems different from how I remember her from the source material that Batman: The Long Halloween Part Two is pulling from. In the clip, she feels warm and caring. In the comic, I seem to remember a tough and brooding Sofia.

Batman: The Long Halloween Part Two arrives on Digital & Blu-ray on August 10th, 2021. Before then, you can catch some of the cast and crew on a Comic-Con@Home Panel on July 23rd at 6 PM Eastern. From comic-con.org:

“Watch the fun as panelists discuss the thrilling conclusion to this epic tale, including Jensen Ackles as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Katee Sackhoff as Poison Ivy, Julie Nathanson as Gilda Dent, Troy Baker as The Joker, and screenwriter Tim Sheridan. Actress/host Tiffany Smith moderates the festivities.”
