I have long been a Pierce Brosnan fan, primarily because he has starred as my favourite character of all time, James Bond, of course. However, it doesn’t stop there, as he ‘s someone I can watch him in whatever he’s a part of. Yes, even when he’s “singing” in Mamma Mia. Now, thanks to the DC Movie gods, he’s about to co-star in one of the next DCEU movies to be released – which I’m sure you all know. The latest news coming out about the release, is that the mighty Brosnan is to wear a mo-cap suit as he stars as Dr. Fate in the upcoming Black Adam movie.
In a video for People Magazine, which was tweeted out by Black Adam News, Brozza (as he is affectionately known by many) is seen speaking to his son, and give out a few details about filming for Black Adam. Among other things, he spoke of the movie’s long schedule and massive production, and both he and his son remark on how excited they are to see the finished film. Conversation then turned to the Dr Fate costume, as Brozza’s son told of how excited he is to see his father in costume. This prompted Brosnan to state that he had been filming in a motion capture suit, and that that was a challenge in itself.
Brosnan said (and this made me laugh):
I do have to put the motion-capture suit on, which is an acting challenge in itself, but luckily I was brought up in the theater, so I know how to get into tights.
You can check out the full video chat between Pierce and his son below:

It’s safe to say, that in these days of massive budget comic book movies, the majority of filming takes place in front of green screens and in motion capture outfits. Black Adam will be no different. Marvel have used motion-capture suits consistently over the years, and with great success. Providing they don’t look too cartoony (Green Lantern, I’m looking at you), then I have no issue.
Brozza also said that he’s unsure on what the finished Dr. Fate suit will look like; as we all know, these things go through numerous changes before settling on the finished article. What we have noted though, is that most recent movies seem to have stayed as true as they could to the comic book versions we all know and love. I’m sure this one will also be as accurate as they can get it.
Exciting, I’m sure you’ll all agree. What are your thoughts? Let us know.
Black Adam, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and starring Dwyane ‘The Rock’ Johnson as Black Adam, with Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, will be coming to theatres next year.
