In a recent Instagram post by star Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, it was revealed that international treasure Keanu Reeves has joined the cast of the upcoming animated movie: DC League of Super-Pets.
The post that announced this addition to their movie was then reposted by co-star, and writer/director of A Quiet Place, John Krasinski. We don’t know much else about the movie outside of these Instagram posts, but we know that it is based on the adventures of the DC heroes’ four-legged friends.
Super-Pets Are A Heroes Best Friend
From what we know of the League of Super-Pets from older versions, we know that the group is made of Supergirl’s Streaky the Supercat and Comet the Super-Horse, Beppo the Super-Monkey, a shape-shifting alien Proty II and Superman’s dog Krypto. We do know, however, that Ace the Bat-Hound has joined the newest version of the League.
The Super Pets date back to 1962 where they featured in Adventure Comics #293. They have continued to appear in various comics and T.V. series since. While only originally having five members, I’m excited to see which pets will make the cut to be featured in the film. That and what harrowing adventures they will embark upon.

It’s been confirmed that Johnson will be the voice of Krypto with his close friend and co-worker, Kevin Hart, voicing Ace. We know that stars such as John Krasinski, Natasha Lyonne, Vanessa Bayer, Kate McKinnon and Diego Luna are involved in this film, however we still do not know who they will be voicing. Only that the pet Reeves will voice is said to have a similar back story to that of his John Wick character.
We can only hope that Bat-Cow makes an appearance. Or any more of Damien’s pets.
DC League of Super-Pets is due to be released in May 2022.
