Darkseid is coming. Nothing can stop the conqueror of worlds from arriving now. Thanks to Zack Snyder’s Justice League merchandise, we now have a new look at the ruler of Apokolips in his full armor.
A long time ago, back when the #SnyderCut was nothing more than an internet movement, the director teased Darkseid as part of his DC plans. Of course, when the Zack Snyder’s Justice League trailer dropped, we got our very first look at the character himself. The trailer show the younger version of the Darkseid, when he was still going by the name Uxas.
The promotional art, however, seems to show the present day, tyrannical Darkseid in his full armor. This is the first time we’ve ever seen the character like this for the film. This armor, unsurprisingly, shares similar qualities to what we’ve seen from both Steppenwolf, and Desaad.
Darkseid’s younger version will appear in the flashback Battle for Earth scene. The same scene that was repurposed in the theatrical cut with Steppenwolf replacing his nephew However, it’s unclear how much of present day Darkseid we’ll actually be getting in the new, extended version of the film. Early rumors suggest his only appearance in Snyder’s first Justice League was to come at the very end of the feature, after Steppenwolf was defeated. He would then arrive in Justice League 2. Wwith Zack Snyder’s Justice League being 4-hours long, perhaps he’s combined both planned movies into one? Time will tell.
