Sean Pertwee, the actor who plays Alfred on Gotham, recently posted a picture on Instagram with David Mazouz (Bruce Wayne) and Cameron Riley Monaghan (Jeremiah) on the set of the show. Each of whom have their own form of Gotham reading material.

It seems like this photo was never meant to reach the public, however, since it has since been taken down from Sean Pertwee’s Instagram. Gotham is in the middle of the last few weeks of its final season, so producers will likely want to clamp down on security to avoid leaks. We are so close to the finish line, it would be a shame if fans get spoiled now.
This Isn’t Even My Final Form
The picture seems to be taking place in Wayne Manor, with Jeremiah looking more and more like the Joker. Much like Jerome before him, producers are adamant that, despite how he looks and behaves, Jeremiah isn’t going to be THE Joker fans know who battles the Batman.
Jerome tells Gordon, before he dies, that he is more than a man, but an idea and that his madness will go on without him. Much like Bruce Wayne’s concept of Batman in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy. The Joker, like Nolan’s Batman, can be anybody.
Producer Danny Cannon elaborates:
Well, I think that just spawned the conversation of the idea of it, of the Joker not being a one person, but like I said, it’s a personality. It’s a way of thinking. It’s more powerful than just one person. Therefore, that sparked the conversation of, if it’s the opposite of good, the opposite of Bruce Wayne, is somebody who just wants to destroy, and wants to do it in a chaotic way, then that could be anyone, because you are literally just going the opposite of your main character and take it as far as you can go. I don’t think that’s just one person. I think that is a way of life, it’s an ideology.
Gotham is returning to FOX for its fifth and final season in 2019.
