Margot Robbie Reportedly Reveals the Date that ‘Birds of Prey’ will Start Filming

Though the success of Suicide Squad led to a sequel and a spin-off movie in the form of a Harley Quinn-led Birds of Prey flick, we have yet to hear too much on either project aside from some creative teams. For the Suicide Squad sequel, we know that the flick will be written by David Bar Katz, Todd Stashwick, and Gavin O’Connor, with O’Connor taking over directorial duties. For the Birds of Prey movie, we know that Margot Robbie will be producing the flick for her production company, LuckyChap Entertainment, with Christina Hodson scripting and Cathy Yan helming.

Aside from that, can you tell me anything else about the movie? Because of how little we knew about the flick, it seemed a long way away before we would ever be seeing it.

According to FlickerMyth, it seems it’s going to be sooner rather than later. In an interview with Robbie, they are reporting that Birds of Prey will begin filming in January of 2019. The film will be R-rated, which is encouraging. It will be “Different” from the other movies featuring Harley and will be working from a “Much smaller budget.

While all of this is good news, I’m a little apprehensive here. In the original article, FlickeringMyth failed to really quote the actress. The quotes I listed above are the only quotes that were provided and they were copied verbatim. No, I did not take specific words from a larger, overall statement. That’s exactly what FlickeringMyth provided.

The worst part is that I can’t attest to the site’s credibility. Therefore, for now, I would definitely take this news with a grain of salt. Trust me, I want it to be true too, but with very little information surrounding Birds of Prey, it’s hard to really give this news any credence. There have been no actor announcements aside from Robbie herself and no release date.

Hopefully, we’ll learn more at Comic-Con at the end of this month that will confirm this news. Until then, it’s best to sprinkle salt over your computer monitor, tablet, or phone while reading this article. Not literally though, in case it damages your equipment and DKN can’t be held liable for that.

Until then, we’ll be sure to keep you updated.
