Michael Keaton’s ‘Batman Returns’ Suit Sold At Auction

Was one of your lifelong goals to dress in a real life Batsuit, and you also happen to have $41,250 lying around?  Well that dream has come true for one lucky person at the Nate D. Sanders Auction in Los Angeles earlier this week.

The very same suit that Michael Keaton wore in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns was sold to one lucky (presumably) Batfan at the auction for the reasonable price of $41,250.  The cape, cowl, leather gloves, utility belt, boots, and additional armaments were displayed on a mannequin that resembled the great Keaton.

Michael Keaton, of course, first donned the cape and cowl in Tim Burton’s Batman.  He returned for the sequel Batman Returns, brandishing a slightly different batsuit, and also one of my personal favorites (the suit, not the movie).

Personally, for such an awesome piece of movie history, this sold for a lot less than I thought an actual movie worn Batsuit would, no matter which film it came from.  To compare, the suit that Christian Bale wore in Batman Begins sold at auction for $250,000.

While the film Batman Returns is pretty divisive as a whole, no matter which side you fall down on, would you spend that much money on a batsuit if you could? Let us know!
