The Joker approves of the Joker.
Mark Hamill, known to many as Luke Skywalker, but to readers of this site as the voice of the Clown Prince of Crime, is one of the biggest comic book fans on the planet. It’s only fitting, being that he put his stamp on one of the most iconic villains in pop culture history. Now, he’s embracing his nerdness with a new show, Mark Hamill’s Pop Culture Quest, which airs on Lionsgate’s online specialty channel. While speaking with Polygon, he commented on his collection (oddly enough, board games were brought up) and of course, the topic of the current DC movies came up. And obviously, Jared Leto’s current take on the Joker (which debuted in this year’s Suicide Squad) was brought up too. But whether you personally liked it or not, Hamill gave him praise, as well as every other actor who has put on the makeup to face the Dark Knight.
“Everyone brings a different spin to the character and you have to look at each script separately. I don’t think there’s a definitive version of the Joker and I don’t think there can be. It’s like Hamlet, really. It’ll be constantly redefined.”
Sounds like a pretty safe answer. However, I think he just loves the comic book world and the fact that we’re getting all of these characters brought to life on the big screen. That point alone ought to put a smile on any fan’s face.
Meanwhile, here’s a look at Hamill’s show, which looks awesome.
