Suicide Squad has been rumored to be undergoing reshoots in order to inject more humor and jokes into the film. It turns out that that is only half true, according to director David Ayer.
Ayer tweeted saying how the rumor of reshoots for more humor is “silly” and then, implied that the studio just strongly supports the film and gave him more money for action reshoots.
#SuicideSquad “reshoots for humor” is silly. When a studio loves your movie and asks what else you want, go for it! #ThanksWB #moreaction

Keep in mind that reshoots are fairly standard in most movies nowadays and are usually worked in the film’s budget from the start. Despite this, it seems that Warner Brothers really likes what they have seen so far in Suicide Squad and elected to give the film a little more money to make it more action-packed.
Suicide Squad hits theaters August 5, 2016.
