One of the great things about the Arkham franchise is getting to play as characters other than Batman. Nightwing, Catwoman, Robin, Deathstroke, and others have all brought rather different gameplay experiences to the table. Not long ago, we learned that Batgirl would be a playable character in Arkham Knight. Today, we finally have the first details of her story DLC pack. Having only appeared as pre-Batgirl and Oracle thus far in the series, it’ll be nice to not only see this universe’s version of Batgirl, but to experience her adventures as well.
Per Comicbook.com:
Batgirl: A Matter of Family takes place before Batman: Arkham Asylum, and will find Barbara Gordon’s Batgirl taking on multiple solo missions, side quests, and puzzle solving challenges. Taking advantage of Barbara’s cyber-prowess, the game will feature a new hacking system where Batgirl must solve puzzles and mind-teasers in order to progress through the story. Additionally, Batgirl can team up with Robin in the Dual Play mode for unique twosome take-downs.
“Batgirl: A Matter of Family” will be available on June 14 for Playstation 4 and Xbox One free of charge to Batman: Arkham Knight Season Pass Subscribers. Everyone else will have to wait until July 21 and pay $6.99. Given that this is so soon, a trailer should be just around the corner, so stay tuned to DKN.
