Actor Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad, Malcolm in the Middle, Argo) has expressed interest in portraying Lex Luthor in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman film. He said:
“Give me a call. I like Lex Luthor. I think he’s misunderstood. He’s a lovable, sweet man.”
Well-known for his role in the TV series Breaking Bad, Cranston is no stranger to baldness. However, Cranston’s wife has a difference of perspective regarding his lack of hair.
“She wasn’t so keen on the bald head,” Cranston admits. “The bald head ages a man. It’s just that she didn’t know me that way, and the last six years it’s all of a sudden like sleeping with a stranger — who was less exciting than her own husband. So I don’t blame her for being upset.”
Oftentimes, actors make sacrifices in order to further the credibility and strength of their roles, and perhaps Bryan’s baldness is a perfect example of this. However, in terms of both aesthetic-mustache value and great acting, Cranston might make a great (non-bald) Gordon character, particularly if Gary Oldman is not available for the role; unfortunately, there is no word as to whether or not the Gordon character will even appear in Batman vs. Superman — cross your fingers! Regardless, many of us might like to see Cranston play a decent role in the upcoming film.
