GQ.com has tracked down the Oscar-winning costume designer, Lindy Hemming. If you do not know Lindy Hemming, she has been the costume designer as of now for all three Dark Knight movies. It is insane that this woman has chucked out iconic costumes that we all love whole heartedly. Even when it’s not Halloween, we all Dark Knight Lovers secretly wear the Joker’s suit at home reciting memorable quotes in front of the mirror. Yes, we all do it. It’s a real secret society. Shhh…
Anyway here’s a quote from Hemming herself about designing the Dark Knight Rises’ Bane costume.
“Bane was meant to look like a cross between a dictator and a revolutionary. I designed the coat myself – it took a year. We took inspiration from a Swedish army jacket and a French Revolution frock coat and amalgamated the two. “
Now all you Bane lovers can go home and create your own masterpiece of the infamous Bane overcoat. It’s such a fashion forward design that in my belief it will be next winter’s coat to wear. So, get to sewing guys.
