Infinite Crisis Profiles the Flash and the Joker

Infinite Crisis, WB’s forthcoming Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA), now profiles the lovable speedster, the Flash, and our favorite sadistic, murderous psychopath, the Joker. Click the jump to see more.

ROW CALL! We’ve got some Justice Leaguers in the fray with Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and Zatanna. The baddies have revealed themselves to be sweet, sweet Poison Ivy and Doomsday, while our alternate universe dwellers include both Gaslight and Nightmare Batman, and Gaslight Catwoman.

So who do we have this week? Let’s welcome another Leaguer to the mix – and a founding member to boot! It’s my second favorite Leaguer (Betcha can’t figure out who my favorite Leaguer is?), the Flash. And then, we have Batman’s archnemesis and my favorite supervillain of all the time, the Joker.

Take a look:

Considering how attached I am to these characters, I was a little apprehensive about their reveal. Of the two profiles today, I love one while the other, I’m not so sure about.

Currently in the midst of the iOS version of Injustice: Gods Among Us, and aside from DeathStroke, I’m a huge fan of the Flash at the moment, so I was very curious as to what we’d be getting for the Flash. Thankfully, I’m not disappointed. The costume’s a little bland, but I’m a big fan of his animation and fighting style. I just want him to go FASTER! If I don’t end up playing Ivy, I’m definitely playing Flash. As I’ve said before, I’m a big fan of melee characters who actually get involved in the fray, so much so that I kinda condemn playing as support characters, which is why I was so disappointed with Zatanna. For the most part, their take on Flash is a really good embodiment of the character and his ultimate is badass.

The Joker, on the other hand, was kinda disappointing, I do understand his fighting style. Most incarnations of the Joker have shown that he’s never really been formidable or combative in any way, opting more so for the psychological trauma that he can inflict or quick, indiscriminate murders. So I understand that they would go about making him fragile, preferring to attack from afar with his many gadgets. I do enjoy his merry skipping walking animation, but their take on his personality is a little too cartoony for my taste. And his moveset, although perfectly understandable, is just completely uninteresting. I probably won’t be playing as the Joker, but at least I’ve got Ivy and Flash to choose from.

Turbine Studios are currently developing Infinite Crisis. There is no set release date for the game, but as of last week, beta testing has officially begun. You can sign up here.

Do you agree with my assessment of the Joker? How would program this character? Let me know.
