Absolute Power #3 is here and what’s left of the heroes are fighting in the trenches. Behind enemy lines. With everything on the line. But will it be enough? Let’s jump in.

Fight (f)or Flight

The majority of the heroes have now lost their powers, so it’s make-shift weapons, guerilla warfare and courage that’s keeping everyone going. If you read the absolute beauty of last issue, you now know that poor young Jon Kent is being controlled by the sinister Amander Waller and the Brainiac Queen. So that is a pretty big gun on the side of the bad guys. How will the heroes respond, react or better still survive?
This issue shows us the resistance gathering their remaining forces and taking the fight to Waller to gather any and all advantage before the final battle next issue. As well as wonderful tension, heartbreaking dialogue and awesome moments, we’re treated to exquisite dialogue from a bunch of characters new and old.

War

As expected this issue’s art was beautiful again, every hero looking beaten, broken, or kitted up for a depowered battle. Dan Mora is leading the charge for what a comic book should look like, and I’m here for it. This guy has been the hottest artist in comics for about 4 years now. Each issue is a treat for my eyes, and the dialogue is a treat for my heart… Or torture, depending on what’s going on. Mark Waid is an institution in the comic book community. So when you see that cover and it has the word Waid on it. You know you’re about to be taken on a journey.
This event has been full of twists and turns, hidden figures and ulterior motives. After this series DC have said the DC universe will be changed forever, and thus far if everyone gets their powers back, we should be good. So what on earth is going to happen in the final issue that will leave everything changed???? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Conclusion

Absolute Power #3 was a really cool comic book, like I’m sure there are many other long fancy words I could have used, but sometimes cool is all my generation have to say that something was awesome. Can’t wait for the next issue. Love this creative team.
