DC Announces New York Comic Con Line-Up and Panels

DC Comics revealed their activations, panels, and slate for New York Comic Con in October.

The comic publisher will have a booth on the exhibition floor, as well as other activations. The DC Booth will resemble the Daily Planet Newsstand, similar if not identical to the display they had at San Diego Comic-Con. At the newsstand, they will be giving away free copies of  the MAD Magazine #1 Facsimile. An adjacent booth also features  DC’s 360° cosplay photo installation where it allows fans to walk the runway wearing a super-imposed outfit of their favorite DC characters.

A new feature that DC is offering this upcoming con is digital queuing for certain actives, including buy from the DC Shop or talent signings. This is theoretically to cut down on physical lines blocking aisles and avoiding the ire of the fire marshal.

Beyond the exhibit hall booth, DC will host a number of panels. However curiously there are none that are specifically focused on Batman. However if you are interested you can check it out here.

DC’s New York Comic Con Merch and Exclusives

DC will also boast of exclusives and other merchandise. It will be selling limited printings of special-edition foil covers for Absolute Batman #1, Absolute Wonder Woman #1, and Absolute Superman #1 with a new cover  by Bill Sienkiewicz, a foil Absolute Catwoman #1 cover by Ben Oliver, as well as a foil Batman: The Dark Knight Returns #1 Facsimile cover by Frank Miller, and a ton more.

DC will also have exclusive hardcover editions of Absolute Batman Vol. 1: The Zoo, Absolute Superman Vol. 1: The Last Dust of Krypton, and Absolute Wonder Woman Vol. 1: The Last Amazon, with connecting covers by Mark Spears.

Just like any good comic con, DC will feature all of their top talents in signings. Amongst the creators doing autographs include the Absolute Batman creative team Scott Snyder, Jock, Frank Martin, and Nick Dragotta; Batman writer Matt Fraction; Absolute Catwoman co-writer Che Grayson; Gargoyle of Gotham creative team Rafael Grampá and Mat Lopes; and Hush 2 artist Jim Lee.
