‘LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight’ Latest Trailers Resurrects ‘Kiss From a Rose’

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight  put out their final trailers and one of them features on absolute banger of a needle drop.

TT Games dropped the Official Launch trailer for the game. It shows all of the highlights of the gameplay set to the backdrop of Seal’s Kiss From a Rose.  Yes, Seal’s Kiss From a Rose. The single that topped some of the best songs of the 90’s. The song that was introduced in 1995’s Batman Forever soundtrack. Talk about a retro-nostalgia trip for Batman fans and fans of 90’s era R&B.

Turning attention to the actual gameplay, the LEGO Batman trailer shows representation from all aspects of Batman. Alternate Batman costumes in the trailer included outfits from The BatmanBatman, Batman Returns, and  Batman: The Animated Series.

It is absolutely crazy how much of the various Batman mythos are taken and mashed-up into one video game. We see recreations from all of the different movies. There’s the famous Bat-wing in front of of the moon shot from Tim Burton’s Batman. They have the Batman Begins quote: “If you make yourself more than just a man. If you devote yourself to be an ideal. You become something else entirely… A legend, Mr. Wayne”.

However I think my personal favorite cameo from the trailer is seeing the Red Hood gang as they are depicted in Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s Zero Year arc. I love seeing those masked Red Hoods.

The fighting gameplay mechanics looks like it borrows heavily from the Arkham Asylum games. Batman is able to take on multiple enemies and do combos on them. So that’s pretty awesome.

‘LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight’ Deluxe Trailer

Another trailer dropped for the Deluxe Edition of the game. With the Deluxe Edition, you can get more player packs that include more costumes and accessories. This includes the “Arkham Trilogy” Pack; “Party” Pack; and “Batman Beyond” Pack. Those packs offer a total combined 28 exclusive costumes, 4 vehicles, and 20 new BatCave items not offered in the regular edition.

Then later in September, Deluxe Edition players also get the Sinister pack and Mayhem mode. Mayhem Mode seems to be a different edition of the game where you can play a the Joker and Harley Quinn. Also, they Mayhem Mode has a completely new story mission. Pretty sweet deal, if you ask me.

LEGO Batman: The Legacy of the Dark Knight is set to come out May 22nd on gaming platforms. However, the Deluxe Edition early access starts on May 19th.
