Review by James Attias
Batman and Robin #25 is a new story, a new dawn and a new day for the dynamic duo. Let’s dive in!
A New Wayne of Thinking
This issue is wonderful. I wanted to get that out of the way early, so that there was no doubt about my constant gushing over every page in this book. We start off with an interesting tease of a new character, whom we can only assume is The Quiet Man, that this story is named after. Followed by an all out shoot ’em up, Batman and Robin battle with bad guys! It was really really fun to read the father son, dynamic duo actually working like a well oiled machine, kicking bad guys’ butts, using super cool vehicles like the Batwing and the Robin-Cycle. Fighting loads of “It’s De Bat!” style goons. Hot Dog! This issue has me smiling from ear to ear!
Growing Together
After all the butt kicking and fun, there are a few pages that follow, that really hit home. This book is showing us the dynamic duo how we’ve wanted to see them. Since the 2011 Tomasi run that seems like a lifetime ago now. It breaks my heart every time I pick up a book and the writer has got Batman fighting any of the bat family. Which seems to be happening more and more…. I’m looking at you Hush 2! *Grumble Grumble* So seeing Bruce being a good father, and Damian being a good kid. Meant the world to me. Can’t praise this issue enough.
Conclusion
Batman and Robin #25 is the best issue of this title in 13 years. I can’t wait to keep on reading!
