JSA #10 is upon us dear reader and with it comes the much anticipated part two.”The Gotterdammerung“-Part Two to be specific, and with it comes a really cool visual illusion with the throwback cover that is a really cool refraction of the previous cover. Leonardo Romero has really given readers a really cool glimpse into  a really unique point of view that has the Justice Society in a focal perspective.

I really dig this particular point of view as well as art style and color palette choice. Seeing it made me go back in my head to The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen by Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill. Looking through the eyes of the Invisible Man at his team. Genuinely love the vibe of this cover art.

All Roads Lead Back To Blackhawk Island

The cards have all hit the table as JSA #10 opens giving us yet Kid Eternity II before the great legends of the JSA. A promise, a hefty one, that is given by Mister Keeper to enlighten Kid Eternity of not only who she is but why she will become. In The Badlands the hawks are dealing with their own plight. One decision made leads straight to an ambush with The Gentleman Ghost and Solomon Grundy. With Johnny Sorrow having played his part, literally, the guise is thrown away and it is up to the JSA members to split up to try to thwart wicked plans.

But, there is a seed of discord to be found in the Injustice Society. Not all members are keen on blindly following Wotan into the arms of “The Unnamed Ones.”. Ruby shares her concerns with Lady Eve, but everyone has sealed their allegiance with a price. Would Ruby betray two teams? As the threads are conjoining and the Injustice Society have the upper hand…just what is Kid Eternity II  to do to save the day?

Kneel Like You Should Have In 1945.

JSA #10 is probably the best issue of this series and given everything that is going on in the lead up… that’s saying a metric ton. Jeff Lemire has delivered the downfall of the JSA to the tune of their own hubris. Rafael De Latorre and Luis Guerrero give stunning imagery that packs an amplified gut punch. The Power of The Dead sequence with Mister Keeper and Kid Eternity II is jaw dropping, gorgeously colored art.

Greatness is a keystone of this series. Next level story work with a masterful team of artists that give the world life. Life to be found for sure as old secrets are no longer dormant and the circle has fully come around. Who these “Unnamed Ones” are remains to be seen but I sense answers are coming for us, dear readers.

Conclusion

To say that JSA #10 is a ride would belittle it. This is a train going 180 mph towards a break in the tracks while our heroes try in vain to right the tracks. Will they be successful? Can the power of the living and the dead save the world from utter ruin? Let’s find out together, next time friends!
