What Titans #22 shows us, is that in team books, villain team ups are inevitable. So grab your friends and let’s group chat this!

Deadstroke

In comics there is a rule, other than Uncle Ben in Spider-Man, no one stays dead. Don’t believe me? Ask Spider-Gwen, Flashpoint Batman and Jurgen’s Joe-El about it? I really almost believed Deathstroke was finally gone. He had a huge crisis arc, a big final battle with Nightwing, would have been a very fitting death, but due to a lack of creativity for new villains. Guess what… He lives. Were given a somewhat murky explanation of how. But it doesn’t matter, he’s back to terrorise the Titans. And he’s not alone.

Fiend Or Foe

So I always try to focus on the positives in my reviews. That being said, I did feel like some of the plot points in this book were a little lazy, but those small drips of lazy were surrounded by intriguing elements that I will praise. There are a few threads embedded in this story, which I love, long term storytelling, from Killer frost, Beast Boy, and even another character I won’t mention. It was fun to think back to their stories and remember their reasoning. THAT I loved. The art was lovely too. I’m sure the little bits that rubbed me the wrong way will be a distant memory by next issue.

Conclusion

Titans #22 felt like the start of something old, something new, something forgotten and something that might have long term implications. (I tried to have something blue but I couldn’t get a rhyme! Sue me!) Until next time, loyal readers!
