Nightwing #125 takes us into a darker part of the ongoing Blüdhaven crisis. We knew that the Police were corrupt but now we see that they’re haunted too…
Dead To Rights
When this issue started, I was reading it thinking it was a one shot or an annual. A different story completely from where we left off. But keep reading old chums, this one has taken a new turn. We’re showing one of the corrupt cops who has now been armed to the teeth with dangerous tech and gear. He’s drinking in a police bar, is there regret in his voice? After he killed a kid a few issues back. Well the twist is, corrupt cops in Blüdhaven don’t need to just worry about Capes. There’s an urban myth running after them too.
Who Polices The Policemen?
It did feel a little bit jarring to start a new mystery in the middle of a gang war, circus ghost, animal experiment, political crisis. There is a lot going on and I’m worried that month to month each issue is getting hard to remember what happened when we left off. Plus the art has now changed which does add to the separation between the issues. I like the new art, don’t get me wrong. But you, my lovely readers, know I’m a real stickler for consistency! What’s a nerd to do?!
Conclusion
Nightwing #125 brings a new old threat to town. I really hope that it’s going to be more intertwined with the story we were already in, rather than something completely new. Only time will tell!
