Review by James Attias
Detective Comics #1093 brings the whole Bat Family into the battle to save Gotham’s endangered and at risk youth… Makes you wonder, isn’t the Bat Family also endangered and at risk youth? Let’s swing in!
Kids Today
Batman is not in a good mood. Even more than usual. Someone has been terrorising the city, and murdering a select group of youths, thus far the dark knight has only been able to prevent one. It’s time to go on the offensive. Welcome the Bat Family to the fray. So far we know that these deaths are connected by the kids being former inmates of a juvenile detention facility. But why would someone want them dead? Each member of the Bat family was written perfectly, no notes. Loved it.
One or Two Suspects
Everytime there is a new mystery in a comic book… Using a new character who we haven’t met before. I start to worry. Mainly because if it is a new character, and all of a sudden a new friend of Bruce Wayne is brought in. Then it’s a pretty safe bet that that person will be our new mystery baddie. Batman: Hush showed how to execute a new mystery perfectly. (Best book ever, and my favorite comic ever for those who didn’t know). Now I’m not saying that this story is pulling a Scooby and there’s only one suspect who the villain – Asema could be… I’m saying I hope we get a little bit more of a thrill, some twists and turns that we won’t see coming. I 100% trust in Tom Taylor to deliver that.
Conclusion
Detective Comics #1093 is a Bat Family extravaganza with exceptional art and fuel to add to this story’s fire! See you next time Bat-Fans!
