Nightwing #122 Welcomes us to a new Blüdhaven, filled with gang war, Police violence and someone pulling the strings to all of it. Let’s swoop in…

No More Mr Nice-Wing

We’re not looking at Robin The Boy Wonder. We are not looking at Taylor’s Nightwing. We’re looking at a young man, who saw a young kid murdered right in front of him. Much like his adoptive father. When you piss off a member of this family, you better batten down the hatches, as there is a storm of childhood trauma and kevlar coming your way, hard and fast. Dick knows who’s behind all of this. They’ve met. Many times. But without proof. He has nothing. Another thing to add to the list of frustration plaguing Nightwing. What would you do, loyal readers?

No More Mr Nice-Dick… Oops

This issue is very well written, huge props to Dan Watters. I felt Dick’s pain, which is unusual when it comes to the happy go lucky, quip’n’kick hero. He is getting closer to being Batman. Which for me is a treat to read! Honestly showing his pain, his frustration, his brooding. Then to see how he reacts to Babs, who can always pierce his exterior because she knows him so well, and they love each other so much. Really a treat to read.

Conclusion

Nightwing #122 is a must read for all Nighting fans. It really shows a natural organic growth for the character and I can’t get enough of it.
