Gotham City Sirens #3  comes equipped with enough bonus points for all the exclusive bonus DLC. In a story arc that has touched on the realms of WestWorld, Darwin’s Game, even notes of Squid Game, a new and ingenious plot develops. Pipi, the mascot of XO Punch, is anxious to catch us up on the story so far, but first let’s talk about the cover.

Terry and Rachel Dodson just make my heart so happy. I relish getting to read these books and seeing familiar faces and art. Terry and Rachel don’t fail in any regard. Featuring our Sirens in a saloon style setting, as Catwoman says, “There’s a new Sheriff in town. ” . The artwork is stellar and there are many collectible variants with artists W. Scott Forber, Jeehyung Lee, Natacha Bustos, and Guillem March each presenting their art on covers.

A Plant Gives A Dog A Bone

Pipi narrates the beginning of Gotham City Sirens #3. She tells of the Trigger Warning game compound and how Punchline has gotten everyone under her control thanks to the nanotechnology in the energy drink XO Punch. After they have XO Punch in their system, they are processed and enter the game stage of Trigger Warning, and become the pawns in the game used or toyed with by the players.

Punchline is so proud of her new enterprise, and the meeting she has with potential investors has the potential to give her Trigger Warning “game” world wide access. But Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and White Rabbit have their own stakes in what Punchline is plotting. While they try to get ahead of her, they keep falling behind thanks to her having the upper hand.

With all the unknown at play and new creatures being brought into the fray…will our girls survive to win the day?

Endure and Survive

With Leah Williams, Matteo Lolli, Triona Farrell, and Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou at the helm, this delicious bite of Gotham City Sirens satiated. Gotham City Sirens #3 takes the whole of the genius plan and gives it to readers in such a unique manner.  The concept of energy drinks enabling mind control into a real life game…where nothing seems to die, well not for forever at least, is a love letter to the original content as it merges with the outskirts of Gotham City.

The humor and flow of the writing is showcased seamlessly. Leah provides the most steady rhythm as we near the finale of this four issue story arc. Leah’s flow is brought to life wonderfully by Matteo Lolli and Triona Farrell. There are so many fandoms that we get direct fanservice from in this series. But my favorite references are the West World and Last of Us.

Conclusion

Gotham City Sirens #3 packs a lot of information that I am curious to see play out as the investors prepare.to witness and engage in the show Punchline has prepared for them. Like you readers, I will be waiting to see Selina, Harley, and Ivy handle business.

See you next time friends!
