Absolute Power #2 is an absolute non-stop, action packed, shock filled slug fest.

Resist
Amanda Waller’s assault on the super people of the world continues…. With that in mind, she’s winning. She’s armed with robots, cyborgs, heroes and her own government task force. If she was a deadly threat before. Now she’s on another level.
This issue takes us into the Fortress of Solitude where the remaining heroes, both powered and de-powered are strategizing. We’re treated to an absolute gem of a moment for Nightwing very early on that made Batman proud, made me proud and will make you proud too loyal reader!
If you described this story to a casual fan it would definitely seem like “Bad guys winning, good guys losing, rally, fight, turn the tides, good guys win” After reading this issue I’m starting to think there might be some real consequences to this story, and I love that!
What Next…
The combo of Waid and Mora is a dream come true for an event book like this. Fantastic from start to finish. We are even treated to a wall of headshots of all the heroes, which was just a chef’s kiss for Mora to be able to draw all the DC heavy hitters, as well as some more obscure heroes.
Mark Waid on the other hand isn’t treating us fans to the same joy as Dan Mora’s art. He’s torturing us by seeing some of our favorite heroes, beaten, bloody, black mailed, defeated and… Dead? If you’ve read any of Mark Waid’s stuff over the years (if you haven’t stop reading this review and go read all of it now!) you’ll know he is a super talented writer who loves superheroes and loves to show them at their most powerful and vulnerable. What more could you want?!
Conclusion
Absolute Power #2 was even more of a shock and awe event than the first issue! I hope this main event and the tie-ins keep up this pace! It’s going to be a wild ride.
