Review by James Attias

Titans #13 is a hell on earth. Heaven in hell. A blast from the past. A glimpse into what could have been. Not bad for 22 pages!

Let’s Boom Tube in…

At the end of last issue, it seemed that Evil Raven may have finally outed herself to Nightwing. This issue immediately picks up where that one….

Holy Green Groundhogs!

So they were on a mission to save people who were being attacked by talking green animals… If you think I was cut off in my previous paragraph, you’d be right. But why…

Beast Boy and Cyborg are on a mission to apprehend a mysterious green foe! Read Beast World to find out who.

Meanwhile things are happening in hell! Could the devil’s demons and monsters be just as scared of the Dark Winged Queen as we are? A messenger from above is on the case.

Young Adult Titans Go!

One small issue I had with this otherwise action packed and entertaining issue, was the art style made the characters look a bit young. Not uncommon in modern comics, the entire second half of New 52 Wonder Woman made her look 18. But with the Titans trying to stand on their own two feet as the new powerhouse team. Having Cyborg of all people looking younger really jarred with me, especially with him now being associated as a former Justice League member (founding member in some cases?).

Other than that, the writing was on point, it didn’t smash my heart into tiny little pieces like the two previous issues. Which was fine. But still a great read.

Conclusion

Titans #13 throws back to Beast world and expands on the Dark winged queen’s saga, setting up what will be a destructive confrontation. Only time will tell!
