McFarlane Toys Unleashes Multiverse Batman Set

McFarlane Toys has revealed that they’re releasing a massive 6 figure set featuring every modern-day live-action Batman.

The figure set has every big-screen Dark Knight from Batman ’89 to The Batman. This means we get Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Ben Affleck, Christian Bale, and Robert Pattinson in plastic glory.

What’s more, the set includes a light-up Bat-Signal with inter-changeable plates to showcase the various Bat-signal logos. So, it includes the traditional round bat-shape from the Batman ’89, the more angular one from The Dark Knight, the Frank Miller-inspired signal from Batman V Superman, and the most recent stylized Bat-signal with the metal slates from The Batman.

All figures are 7 inches tall and have 22 points of articulation. The Batmen have a stand, trading card, and cloth capes.

While this set is super awesome, it is not the most accurate or comprehensive set. For example, the Michael Keaton Batman suit is from Batman ’89, but it features the bat-logo from Batman Returns (1992). Also, the Val Kilmer figure comes wearing the special sonar Bat-suit from the final battle of Batman Forever, but the set ignores the more traditional panther-suit that he wore for the majority of the film.

Finally, the most egregious mistake is not including Adam West’s Batman in the set. In fact his absence is almost baffling, since McFarlane Toys makes Batman ’66 toys already. Surely it couldn’t have been that hard to include some of that pure West?

The set goes on sale on October 1st and will retail for $120 USD. You can try to pre-order one here, but it should be noted that all retailers are currently sold out of their pre-orders. Hopefully they’ll make more of these babies for everyone to enjoy.
