McFarlane Toys have released a Dark Flash Gold Label 12″ statue from the upcoming film, The Flash.
As he pushes the boundaries of his powers, Barry Allen encounters a mysterious and terrifying vision amidst The Speed Force, something, or someone, is seemingly using the abilities of The Flash for nefarious purposes.
The incredibly detailed 12″ scale statue is based on the DC Multiverse and based on the character’s look in the upcoming movie The Flash.
Included with the statue is a collectible card with character art on the front, and a character biography on the back.
The Dark Flash is an alternate speedster from a different timeline. This character first appeared in 1999 and was created by Mark Waid and Paul Pelletier. Interestingly, at one point in the comic line, he replaced the heroic Flash and even joined the Justice League.
In the comics, the Dark Flash was Walter West and he replaced Wally West, not Barry Allen (this has clearly been changed for the upcoming movie) for a time. Walter’s noted to be eerily similar to Wally, as his life paralleled his heroic doppelganger’s almost exactly until a tragedy changed him.
No one within Central City was aware of exactly when the alternate Flash took Wally’s place, even though there was a noticeable difference between each character’s actions. Walter was more brutal in his approach and remained isolated from Wally’s usual allies. When they finally tracked him down, they found that the darker Flash, unmasked, even looked like Wally.
