‘The Batman Part 2’ and ‘Penguin’ Delayed

Production for The Batman Part 2 and its television show spin-off The Penguin has been put on indefinite hold.

While no official word has been given as to why, the main reason is probably due to the Writer’s Guild of America strike. People in the industry are demanding a fair wage and protection from the studios. The Batman writer and director Matt Reeves and Part 2 writer Mattson Tomlin are amongst those taking strike action. Initially, production was going to start on Part 2 in November 2023. However, some sources indicate that it is being pushed to March 2024. How this will impact Part 2‘s time schedule is anybody’s guess. It is also unclear on whether the strike will also delay the October 3, 2025 release date. On a related note, The Penguin spin-off has also paused filming. Production started in March 2023. It was expected to complete shooting by August, but now that will be delayed. It is also unknown how the strike will impact the rest of the production or its release date. Na na na na

For now, The Batman Part 2 is still scheduled to hit in theaters on October 3, 2025. The Penguin series presumably will stream on Max some time in 2024. Na na na na na na na na na na na
